Obituary for Concetta Calandriello

Concetta  Calandriello
Concetta Calandriello, (nee Leone), 89, of Edison passed away peacefully Sunday morning September 9, 2018. Concetta was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 15, 1928. She graduated from Snyder High School. She met her husband, Frank, in Jersey City. She spent her life caring for her children and family. Concetta is predeceased by her husband, Frank, of 39 years. She later married the late Peter Miele. She is also predeceased by her siblings Frances, Elisa, and Vincent and her son in law Howard Kornhaber. Concetta is the devoted mother of John and his wife, Annette, and Mary Kornhaber-Szucs and her husband, Allan. She is the loving sister in law of Bernice and Theresa. She is survived by her grandchildren Lisa Calandriello, Marc Kornhaber and his wife, Jamie, Jacqueline McCue and her husband, Chuck, Jessica Kortenhaus and her husband, Robert, and David Szucs and his wife Jana, as well as her great grandchildren Maria, Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth, Alexander, Deklan, Jaxson, Sebastian. Concetta had many joys in life, including being a member of senior citizens’ clubs, loved crafting, crocheting, and trips to Atlantic City. Of all her joys in life it was her family that made her shine brightest.

Concetta will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Monday September 17, 2018 from 4 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Road, Middletown, NJ 07748. A mausoleum entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Joseph’s Senior Home, 1 St Joseph’s Terrace, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. St. Joseph’s Senior Home is run by “The Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception”, who serve as a witness to the compassionate Christ, as they minister to the elderly providing quality care with respect, dignity and compassion.
