Obituary for Joseph Rispoli

Joseph  Rispoli
Joseph Rispoli – 87 of Highlands, New Jersey Affectionately known as “Poppa Joe” by many passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Joseph was born on August 5, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his younger years as a truck driver and served in the Navy on the USS Douglas H. Fox DD-779. After serving his country Joseph was honorably discharged and met his wife Marie. Joseph was a teamster working as a truck driver to support his family. He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Marie, and children, Joseph and Laura. He is the devoted father to Mariann Rispoli, Camille Tenny, James, Nancy Robinson and husband Robert, Diane Settembre and husband Anthony, Danny and his wife Linda, Steven and his wife Debbie, Deborah and Jennie Rispoli, widow to his son Joseph. He is survived by his 29 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a fan of the New York Mets and New York Jets. After retirement, he enjoyed drawing, and singing Frank Sinatra and Italian songs at family functions. He always held on to his humor and positivity throughout his time being ill. Of all his joys it was his family that made him shine brightest. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Joseph will be reposing at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Wednesday June 20, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday June 21, 2018 at 9:30am at St. Catherine Laboure. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
