Obituary for Robert Briscoe

Robert  Briscoe
Robert Briscoe 79 of Tinton Falls New Jersey passed away peacefully on May 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick. Bob was born on March 2, 1939 in New York City. He attended Manhattan College where he graduated first in his class with a degree in civil engineering. Bob enjoyed working for Bechtel Engineering where he spent his entire career- 39 years. There he worked numerous projects all around the world, including Saudi Arabia. Bob and his former wife Agnes, raised their family in Leonardo.

In 1999, Bob retired from Bechtel in Houston. and relocated to Tinton Falls, so that he could spend his retirement near his family. Bob lived a few miles away from his son, Rob and daughter in law, whom he affectionately called “Tez” He visited with them often and ate many meals together. He loved spending time with his now deceased daughter Maggie and her wife, Pam in Ewing New Jersey. He enjoyed travelling to Warwick New York to visit with his daughter Susan and son in law, Andrew and grandchildren Jacob, Gabrielle and Ian. His house was always open for his children and grandchildren and the family spent many summer weekends at his home in Tinton Falls. He was a devoted father and grandfather and was always available to his children and grandchildren. Bob adored his nephews Jeff and Russell and Jeff’s children Jimmy, Anna and Joey.

Bob spent many winters in Pine Island and Panama City Florida. Bob had many hobbies and interest. He was very interested in nutrition and health. He spent his days, walking for exercise, juicing and eating healthy. He loved to read and was an expert in many areas including global and American history, science, cinema, geography, finance and politics. If asked a question in any of these areas, Bob would give a complete and thorough answer with more details and dates than one would think is humanly possible

He is predeceased by both his parents, his daughter Margaret, and sister, Betsy. He is survived by his son, Rob and his wife Therese; his daughter, Susan and her husband, Andrew and his three grandchildren Jacob, Gabrielle and Ian. He is also survived by his brother Thomas and nephews Russel and Jeff. Bob loved to spend time with his family and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Bob will be reposing at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Thursday May 24, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday morning at 10am at St Agnes Church, May 25, 2018. Interment to follow at Bayview Cemetery.
