Obituary for David Steinberg

David M. Steinberg, Jr., 73, of Middletown, NJ. died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, N.J.

Born in Elizabeth, Dave resided in Hazlet before moving to Middletown six years ago.

He was a veteran of the U.S, Navy. He was employed by the Winter Stamp Co., Elizabeth and then for 20 years as a custodian at St. Joseph’s Church, Keyport.

Dave and his wife Mary Lou enjoyed taking morning walks on the boardwalk at Long Branch, loved the beach, tending his aquarium and an avid CB Radio operator.

Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Cullen Steinberg. His sister Mary Lou DeMaria Berhang and her husband Kurt, his cousins Mary Ellen Bickler and her husband Alan, Thomas Brown and his wife Barbara, Fred Brown and several other cousins. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Carly Berhang, Eric Bickler, Jeff Bickler and his wife Liz and Christie Bickler. Also surviving are his Grand niece and Grand nephew Austin and Violet.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St Catherine Church, Middletown. Entombment will follow in St Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport, N.J. Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements.
