Obituary for Anthony Vecchione

Anthony Vecchione
Anthony Pasquale Vecchione – 89 of Belford, NJ passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Anthony was born on January 28, 1929 in Newark, NJ. He graduated from the school of hard knocks in Newark, NJ where he went on to receive a master's degree in street. Anthony went onto to serve his country bravely by enlisting in the United States Army. After being Honorably Discharged he met wife Vera and settled in Belford, NJ to raise their family. Anthony owned Bayshore Pest Control to provide for his family. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Pasquale as well as his siblings Antoinetta “Dolly” Marasco and Louis Vecchione. Anthony is the beloved husband of 50 wonderful years to Vera Vecchione (Scamorza). He is the devoted father to Dina Vecchione Milne and her husband Scott Milne. Anthony is survived by his grandchildren Jack, Jordyn, and Isabella. His grandchildren will greatly miss his corny jokes, constant jabs and cheerleading at all of their games and events. In his free time he could be found losing his bankroll at the blackjack table in AC or popping his top button at the buffet to make sure he got his "moneys worth." Anthony also loved to bowl with the "kids" at the alley most of which were 80+ years old. Since all of his friends and a lot of his family went before him, Anthony was eagerly looking forward to a reunion in the sky of epic proportions complete with music, sausage & pepper sandwiches and a big ol card game.

Anthony will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Sunday May 6, 2018from 12 – 4pm. A prayer Service will be offered at the Funeral Home at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Anthony's honor to Parking For Pete's Sake, 46 David Terrace Red Bank, NJ 07701 ...or just do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in his name.
