Obituary for Robert Wickman Jr.

Robert Wickman Jr.
Robert S. Wickman, Jr. Better known as "Bud" of Sea Bright, NJ and Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away on February 6th. Bud was born on March 11, 1982, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He attended high school in Fort Lauderdale and college at Jacksonville University. For most of his adult life he worked as a Yacht captain and in recent years served as a Firefighter for Sea Bright, NJ in the marine division.

Bud had a love for the ocean, traveling and history. He was at home on the water and was an accomplished captain and waterman. Bud's creativity, sense of humor, and leadership all came together to form the larger than life persona that inspired all who he met. He would light up a room at his entrance. There was not a better man to laugh, cry, or share your deepest feelings with. He never ended a conversation or missed an opportunity to tell you that he loved you. His son was the greatest love of his life.

Bud leaves behind broken-hearted parents Mary Yourie Wickman and Robert "Bob" Wickman, sister Katie Wickman Cross, brother in law Jon Cross and his son George Louis Wickman. Also many cousins, aunts and uncles and extended family and friends who Bud loved and adored. He is also predeceased by maternal and paternal grandparents and his Uncle Jim.

There will be a memorial mass for Bud at St. Catherine's in Middletown, NJ on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 9:30am followed by a reception at Eventide Grille in Sea Bright, NJ at 11:00am. There will be an additional memorial service for friends and family in Florida in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, we will be setting up a fund for his son George, details to come.
