Obituary for Teresa Setaro

Teresa Setaro
Teresa Setaro, 89, of River Plaza, passed away peacefully at Riverview Medical Center on Feb. 3, 2018. She was born on March 11, 1928 in Red Bank, where she lived until she settled in River Plaza with her loving husband, Bernard Setaro, and their three children. Teresa was an active communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, and a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary at both the Red Bank Elks Lodge and River Plaza Hose Company. Teresa is predeceased by her husband, Bernard; daughter, Louise Booton; parents, Carmen and Louise Falbo; and two sisters, Angela DeGeorge and Mary Bruno. She is survived by her sons, Bernard and Thomas; their wives Monica and Kathy; and six grandchildren, Douglas Booton, Jennifer Booton, Lindsey Setaro, Carly Setaro, Nicolas Setaro, and Emily Setaro. She will also be missed by an enormous extended family and close friends. Teresa was especially proud of her grandchildren, and could often be heard bragging about her kids and telling everyone how she had “the best family.” She was a devout Yankees fan, a huge fan of Nick Swisher, and made sure to never miss a game. She loved having her family over for dinners and holidays, where she supplied her famous home-cooked meatballs and cream puffs and could be seen sipping on manhattans and cracking jokes with a sense of humor her family argues rivaled Lucille Ball. In her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing and performing in shows at the Elks with her husband, daughter and friends, and expressing her creativity through homemade costumes, decorations, “mop ladies,” and themed cakes.

Teresa will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Tuesday February 6, 2018 from 4 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday morning February 7, 2018. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Susan G. Komen in support of breast cancer.
