Obituary for Grady Fitzgerald

Grady  Fitzgerald
Grady Robert Fitzgerald of Middletown, New Jersey passed away on December 7, 2017 at the age of 63. Grady was born on May 21, 1954 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Francis Fitzgerald and Dorothy (Davie) Fitzgerald. Grady is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Danielle, son Patrick, and daughter-in-law Tara. He is also survived by two brothers, Barry and Michael, and many nieces an nephews.

Grady grew up Jersey City surrounded by a large family and many childhood friends that he remained close with throughout his life. He attended St. Aloysius High School and graduated in 1972. As an adult he served in the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy he went on to work for the United States Post Office. He was a proud union member and advocate for workers’ rights.

He enjoyed travelling, going to the beach, spending time with the family pets, and watching the Yankees. Grady cared deeply about the environment and volunteered with several environmental causes throughout the state. More than anything, Grady loved being around his family and friends and talking to anyone that he came across. He had an unforgettable personality that touched everyone who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed by his family and his friends that became family.

Grady will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Rt. 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Monday December 11, 2017 from 4 – 8pm. Prayer Service will take place at 7pm in the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to clean action.
